Coronavirus - Covid-19
With the Club re-opening from 17th May, 2021, Members will notice various changes which are necessary so that the Club meets Government directives in respect of Covid19 virus control. Your Officers and Committee trust that all Members when visiting the Club will comply with these changes which are in the best interest and safety of all the other Members and Staff.
The new procedures are as follows :-
When entering the Club please immediately use the Automatic Sanitiser just inside the Front Door. There are no buttons to touch- just put your hands underneath. You must wear a face-mask whilst in the Club though it may be removed whilst you are eating and drinking..
Follow the directional signs into the Lounge. Entry to this Lounge is now “one-way” as the other door the other side of the Arch is now the Exit Door. Both doors are clearly signed.
Please find a seat as the Directives state that all Patrons should be seated apart from leaving the Room. Please be considerate to other members and their parties when selecting seats----- for example, do not select a Table set for four people or more if you are on your own. The Turret table is set for a larger party and so please respect. Do not sit at a Table displaying a RED CARD as the Table has not yet been Sanistised by the Steward. Use only Tables showing a Green Card and DO NOT REMOVE the Cards please, but DO turn them over when you leave - so that the RED side shows.
You MUST check in to the Club - by scanning the QR code in your NHS Covid App, or by giving your details to the bar staff. This is a legal requirement. In addition you must provide an address for every Visitor you bring to the Club. Those Visitors must also have their details recorded in the normal way in the Visitors Book in the Hall ( two separate Acts with which we have to comply ). This directive is applicable at every session and failure to do so for you and your party will immediately result in the Steward refusing to serve you and asking you to leave the Club. The personal details thus collected will be kept for 21 days and will comply with Data Protection requirements.
Your drinks will be served to you AT YOUR TABLE. You will pay in the normal way using cash or card.
On every Table you will find a Red and Green card. When leaving the Club kindly display the Red Side uppermost implying that the Table needs sanitising by the Steward.
Please do not move the Club furniture or sit in the seats taped-off. Do not queue at the Serving Point or stand with your drink at the Bar ( marked as a no-entry zone ). This ensures that you comply with Social Distancing requirements for your safety and re-assurance for other members.
TOILETS. There is now a MAXIMUM number of TWO allowed at any one time in each of the Ladies and Gentlemen Toilets. Please wait outside if necessary. Respect the Social Distancing markings in the Gents. Wash your Hands without fail and use the Sanitiser to the left of the Snooker Room door.
When leaving the Club please give priority to other Members entering through the Front-Door. The French-Windows Door leading to the Garden is not now in use.
Separate guidance for those playing Snooker or Pool is posted in the Snooker Room and on the Pool Table.
The Steward and Staff will regularly disinfect all surfaces ( including the Gaming machines ) during a session. If you have a concern please do mention.
Your Committee are sorry to have to make these changes to our established customs which have served us well for 70 years but we have no option but to comply with Directives which after all are for your continued safety and health. By the same token all members and Guests are expected to comply and thereby showing respect to other Members as well.
